Kevin Griffith was incarcerated in the Madison County Jail facing charges of 35-45-21-3(b)/F6: Dangerous Communicable Disease Carrier-Fail to Warn Knowingly or Intentionally. In plain English, this is the charge when someone is participating in an unprotected sexual relationship and fails to inform their partner that they have H.I.V.
According to the probable cause affidavit the Anderson Police learned about this on a medic call in March of 2020. We will not name the victim, but she was in a panic attack when she informed them that she found out her boyfriend she had been sexually active with for two months did not tell her he had H.I.V./ A.I.D.S. She said they did not use protection.
Griffith tested H.I.V. positive in 2016 according to the Indiana Department of Health and was issued a duty to warn in 2019 that he signed.
By August of 2020, Anderson Police had enough information to request a warrant.
He was booked in on Saturday6/25/2022 and released on his own recognizance on 6/27/2022.
Griffith is facing a level 6 felony
