Anderson Firefighter Arrested Over The Weekend For Criminal Confinement And Domestic Battery.

Anderson Fire Department's Chief Dave Cravens has placed Anderson Firefighter Tyler Long on administrative leave pending an executive session with the Anderson board of public works following Long's arrest over the weekend. Charges were filed for alleged criminal confinement and domestic battery. Long was arrested on January 29, 2023. The prosecutor filed formal charges on January 30th, 2023.

Chief Cravens stated in a press release Long has not returned to work since the alleged incident. Chief Cravens will be requesting the safety board to continue the administrative leave without pay until the conclusion of the pending criminal case. Per Indiana code, other disciplinary actions are "stayed" pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings. This is a developing story, we will make updates available as soon as we learn them.
