(Anderson, IN.) 63-Year-Old Man Faces Child Molestation Charges

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Rick(y) Idlewine was booked into the Madison County Jail and charged with child Molestation.

On November 30th, 2022, a kids talk interview was conducted following allegations of inappropriate touching that were reported to the department of child services from the Middletown Police Department. According to the report, the child had disclosed that her grandmother's boyfriend Rick(y) Idlewine had been touching her on her chest and between her legs. The abuse started when she was around seven years of age and continued for several years.

When they had a chance to interview the child’s mother, (omitted), she alerted the interviewer that her daughter had been acting up for some time and that they tried counseling to help her with her behavior. One day when xxxxx’s daughter came home from school, she was “extremely grouchy,” Her mother continuously asked what was wrong. Her daughter broke down and was crying, “You’ll never forgive me.” They went into the next room, and that is when she told her mother that “Papaw Rick(y) has been touching me” When xxxxx told her husband, xxxxx, he expressed his concerns about Rick(y)’s overly playful” behavior seemed weird. xxxxx said he spoke to Rick(y), but Rick(y) reacted by saying he wouldn’t do that and that he treated the girls like princesses, but his tone conveyed that he was not shocked by the allegations.

When the interviewer spoke to xxxx, the Grandmother, xxxx told the interviewer she had received a phone call from xxxxxx instructing her to go outside so he could talk to her. She said she went into the bathroom to talk to xxxxxx on the phone, and when she came out, Rick(y) kept asking her, "What did I do?" and "What did I do wrong?". xxxx said she blew off the questions and told him it was about Christmas time then she went to bed. xxxx has not had any conversation with Rick(y) about these allegations other than a text message from him saying he did not do this. xxxx said the house they lived in was Rick(y)'s house that she moved into with him. When the Mom, Dad, and the kids moved back from Jamaica, she kept the kids at her house every weekend for about six months. xxxx described when the kids did stay at the house that, if she was cooking or doing dishes, Rick(y) would be up in the playroom with the kids playing, and when the child would exit the playroom that, she would always have a different personality and be angry and be mad. When the interviewer tried to interview Rick(y), he did not wish to participate in the interview.

According to MyCase website, three counts of Child Molesting, Fondling, or touching with a child under 14 years of age were filed by the state of Indiana, and an arrest warrant was issued. Rick(y) Idlewine is on a $2,500.00 cash bond, according to the site, and no trial date has been set in this case.
