Anderson Police Investigate Daytime Shooting Behind Residence on Central Avenue.
On 09/17/2022 at about 11:30 AM, the Anderson Police responded to a subject shot in the
2300 block of Central Avenue. As officers arrived on the scene, they located the victim, Mark
Neel (34) of Anderson.
Preliminary information shows that the victim went outside and
confronted another subject in the alleyway after hearing gunshots. A dispute ensued between
both parties, and Mr. Neel was shot.
Officers quickly arrived, secured the scene, rendered aid, and set up a perimeter around the immediate area. Mr. Neal was transported to a local Anderson hospital for treatment, where he remains in stable condition.
The Criminal Investigations Division was called to the scene and spoke with multiple witnesses. The investigation remains ongoing at this time, and more details will be released as they become available.
