Anderson Police Respond To Self Inflicted Shooting At Local Bar

On 11/28/2021 at 17:09 hours, the Anderson Police responded to the Hideaway Bar located at 2017 W. 8th Street in reference to a possible shooting.

As officers arrived on the scene and began speaking with witnesses, they determined that a male subject accidentally discharged his firearm and injured himself. According to scanner traffic the subject may have been intoxicated and not cooperating with police. it is unclear if police have recovered the firearm at this time.

Anderson police have identified the male subject, Dominick Lynem (52) of Anderson, who was located near the 1600 block of West 10th Street after walking away from the bar.

Lynem transported to a local Anderson hospital shortly after. The incident remains under investigation at this time.

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
