BREAKING-Crash Involving Semi Sends 2 To Hospital

ALEXANDRIA—At the intersection of Country Road 800 N, and State Road 9, an accident involving a semi, and SUV sends 2 to the hospital. It appears the Semi truck driver was unable to stop, hitting the blue SUV. The SUV impacted the driver’s side of the vehicle at what appears to be a high speed. The driver and passenger’s airbags, including the side curtain airbags on both sides, were deployed. The semi-driver was uninjured and was not transported to the hospital. At the time of this publication, the conditions of the two injured in the SUV are unknown. Responders from The Madison County Sheriff's Department, Alexandria Police Department, Alexandria Fire Department, and East Madison Fire Territory all responded to the scene. Several bystanders were trying to assist the couple in the blue SUV, including an off-duty Paramedic, and an off-duty Registered Nurse, prior to the emergency personnel's arrival.
