This afternoon the Anderson Police responded to a home in the 1600 block of Meridian Street in reference to an unknown disturbance. As officers arrived on the scene, they contacted the caller, who led them to the location of her deceased mother. The Criminal Investigations Division was called to the scene, and the investigation has been ruled a homicide. Detectives currently have a suspect in custody, and we will release more details as they become available. The Madison County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death upon completion of an autopsy. The identity of the deceased female will be released once proper notifications are made.

Victim information (If known): Age: 49 Sex: Female

We can confirm that the coroner was called out to the scene at around 5:30 P.M. however we cannot confirm anything else. According to PulsePoint, this is still a working scene, and we have asked for a press release.

There was a woman stabbed around 16th and Meridian around 4:00 PM, and the police apprehended a suspect at 13th and Lincoln. The condition of the woman is still unknown to us at this time. We will bring more on this story as it becomes available,
