Child Abuse Investigation Leads to Charges Filed in Elwood

CHARGES FILED
Cedric Eugene Dunbar claims that the child's leg was broken when changing his 3-month old son's diaper, but further investigations suggest otherwise. Dunbar admits frustration during the interview, and charges have been filed for Domestic Battery on a child less than 14, a felony 3, Neglect of a Dependent, also a level 3 felony, and Aggravated Battery, a level 3 felony, additional charges related to the case are also filed. Mikayla Nicole Oxley, the child’s mother stated she saw Cedric squeeze and shake the child when she was asked what did she do about it, she stated to the police that she took the child from him and told him he can't do that. She is being brought up on Neglect of a Dependent felony level 6 charges and failing to report it; and Neglect of a dependent failing to report, a class B misdemeanor for failing to report when Cedric shook and squeezed the 3-month old child.
