Developing Story- Pedestrian Struck On Scatterfield- Truck Took Off

Anderson, IN— On 10/23/2022, the Anderson Police responded to the 2100 block of S.

Scatterfield Road in reference to a call of a pedestrian struck by a white or light-colored

Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck. As officers arrived, they located the pedestrian, Charles A.

Adams III (31), lying in the roadway. Adams was transported to Indianapolis and

remains in stable condition. Preliminary details of the crash depict that Adams was walking northbound on S. Scatterfiled Road when he was hit. However, the white or light-colored Chevrolet pickup truck never slowed or stopped to check on Adams and was last seen traveling

northbound. On 10/25/2022, APD was able to identify the driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck as

Dustin M. Poor (41) of Anderson. Poor cooperated with the investigation and turned

himself into APD. Criminal charges will be filed in the coming days, and the investigation

remains ongoing.

before ultimately being transported to Indianapolis, where he remains in critical condition.

Preliminary details depict that Adams was walking northbound on S. Scatterfiled Road when

he was hit. However, the white or light-colored Chevrolet pickup truck never slowed or

stopped to check on Adams and was last seen traveling northbound. The APD Crash Team

was notified of the incident and will continue investigating. Should you have information that

Around 9:20 PM on 10/23/2022, Madison County Dispatch received a few calls of a pedestrian struck on Scatterfield. The pedestrian struck was able to get into the Rally's parking lot, where medics assisted him.

We have no information on his condition, but Anderson Police had both northbound and southbound lanes closed on Scatterfield during the tenure of the investigation. Callers who called to dispatch described the pickup truck as ad a gold or white Chevrolet 1500 or GMC truck. The driver did not stop and left the scene of the accident. We do not have any information if the Anderson Police Department was able to locate the driver. We have no further information and will update this story once we learn more.
