Drive-By Shooting leads To Pursuit and 2 People In Police Custody.

The Anderson Police responded to a call of several shots fired in the 1200 block of W. 9th Street on 11/02/2021 at 12:18 AM. Witnesses that called 911 advised that they observed a dark-colored sedan traveling in the area that may be involved. No injuries or damages were reported, but there were shell casings located on the scene. this is at least 12 shootings in this 4 block stretch of west 9th street in the past 12 months. Police will continue to monitor the area, and a report has been completed.

On 11/02/2021 at 01:58 hours, Muncie PD was involved in a vehicle pursuit of a dark-colored sedan headed towards Anderson. The vehicle was said to be involved in a shooting in Muncie. The pursuit continued into Anderson. APD refused to assist in the pursuit but did assist with the perimeter, and apprehension of the suspect. The suspect that was placed into custody was also a person of interest in the earlier shooting incident that occurred in the 1200 block of W. 9th Street here in Anderson. Detective Rayford, assigned to the new task force, will continue this investigation.
