Fight Between Anderson Teens Ends In One Person shot Early Tuesday Morning.
On Tuesday, February 22, 2022 just after 11AM The Anderson Police responded to a fight in progress in the 1700 block of Jackson Street. Prior to arrival, officers were advised that the conflict had escalated to gunshots being fired and that a family member was transporting the juvenile victim to a nearby hospital. Officers located the victim at the ER in stable condition and confirmed where the incident occurred. A preliminary investigation revealed that a family dispute quickly resulted in a shooting between two juvenile siblings. As a result, the Criminal Investigations Division was called to the scene, and the case remains ongoing.
When the family member was transporting the victim to St. Vincent hospitals they were involved in a vehicle collision near the ambulance entrance to the hospital. The victims vehicle then continued to drive approximately a block away from the crash scene where the vehicle then became disabled not too far from the main entrance to the hospital. The last known condition of the victim is stable. At this time the 15 year old suspect has not been taken into custody.
