At 11:22 AM on 11/14/22, the Anderson Fire Department responded to a fire call on a property at 2217 Fowler St. The home appeared to be vacant, the cause of the fire was unknown, and it looked like the house was under renovation.
Engines 4,6 and 7 joined Rescue 1 and Medic One to battle the blaze for 2 1/2 hours until it was put out. (continued)

At 10:43 PM, the Alexandria Fire Department was called out to the Gosnell Mobile Home Park at 1305 S. Park Ave in Alexandria. Unit 30 had heavy smoke showing but was under control quickly. Alexandria 508 joined multiple units on the scene to have this cleared in 52 minutes. The cause of the fire is still unknown. (continued below)
Fires seem to be happening more, but it is nothing sinister; as the weather gets colder, people attempt to warm their homes in alternative ways, and some of those ways are not safe. If you are going to use a space heater, especially kerosene or propane-powered ones, you should follow the directions on the heater but keep it away from anything flammable. (continued)
