Five People Shot One Killed Near 16th And Madison

On Sunday, June 19, 2022 The Anderson Police Department responded to a report of gunshots in the 16th and Madison Avenue (near Sunny Ray's bar) area early this morning.
The first incident occurred around midnight, which resulted in two gunshot victims. As officers arrived on the scene, they located the victims, administered aid, and secured the scene for medics to transport the victims to a local Anderson hospital. Both victims remain in stable condition. A second incident occurred at approximately 3:30 am when officers responded to another report of gunshots in the area of 16th and Madison Avenue.
Officers were already nearby monitoring the crowds and responded to find three victims. Officers again secured the scene and rendered to the victims until medics could navigate through the crowds. All three subjects were transported to local Anderson hospitals for treatment. Unfortunately, one of the victims ultimately succumbed to their injuries, Madison County Coroner Dr. Troy Abbott said Landon Hill, 24, died from a gunshot. The Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death during an upcoming autopsy.
The other two victims remain in treatment. The Criminal Investigations Division was called to the scene for both shooting incidents, and the cases remain under investigation.
