Severe Accident on I-69
217 marker by State road 38 a major accident occurred and resulted in serious injury. The lifeline helicopter was summoned to the scene. The wreck occurred in the northbound lanes and rescue had to use the southbound lanes to reach them. Officers shut down the northbound lane shortly after 2:00 AM from the 214-mile marker. It took several hours for the wreck to be cleaned up. I-69 has recently opened back up We will find out more about the drivers later today and update this story as this coverage came in from overnight

Fire destroys multiple apartments, injuries
Multiple people displaced from last night's fire in Chesterfield affected at least 6 apartments. An officer was treated and released from a local hospital according to the East Madison Fire Territory and a firefighter was treated on the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Residents who were displaced from their apartments were assisted by the American Red Cross with temporary shelter. The 911 call came in at 5:42 PM where they spent the next four hours working the fire, and the fire rekindled a few hours later. and again this morning. The fire department is currently out there again working on the rekindled fire.
