Gunfire on Fulton Street Leaves One Dead- UPDATED

Anderson, IN— On 10/09/2022, the Anderson Police Department initiated an

investigation into a homicide that occurred in the 2200 block of Fulton Street. The victim,

identified as Tyreke X. Love (23), was located inside a nearby apartment suffering from a

gunshot wound. Once officers could secure the scene and render aid, Love was

transported to a local Anderson hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Criminal Investigations Division followed up on multiple leads and was able to

locate a possible suspect vehicle in the 2900 block of Sheridan Street. At this time, Det.

Ryan Prado obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and the residence where it was

parked. The APD SWAT and Negotiations Team was activated to assist, and the search

warrant was served without incident. Three subjects were detained from the residence

and questioned. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains

ongoing. The Madison County Coroner’s Office will officially determine the cause of

death during an autopsy later this week.

in the 2200 block of Fulton Street. As officers arrived on the scene, witnesses directed them to a nearby apartment where they located a male subject that had been shot. Officers secured the scene and began rendering aid. AFD medics transported the victim to a local Anderson hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Criminal Investigations Division was called to the scene and is currently following up on multiple leads. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing. The Madison County Coroner's Office will officially determine the cause of death during the autopsy in the coming days.
