Monday, October 11th, 2021 marks the observance of Columbus Day, Here is a list of what is closed.
Banks- ATM transactions, most branches closed
Government Offices - including the courthouse and B.M.V
Mail service
We contacted Bestway, Anderson's waste service contractor and they confirmed Monday is business as usual, so if your trash day is Monday, they are still picking up. Many businesses are open and several are running specials.
Columbus Day is a U.S. holiday that commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus in the Americas in 1492. It was unofficially celebrated as a holiday by several states but did not become a recognized federal holiday until 1937, proclaimed by our 32nd president Franklin D. Rosevelt.
