Indiana State Police Investigating A Fatal Shooting Of An Elwood Police Officer. (update)

The Elwood Police Department have identified the officer killed this morning to be Noah Shahnavaz, 24, from Fishers, Indiana. Shahnavaz was a five year veteran of the United States Army and proudly served the Elwood community for the past 11 months.

The suspect in Officer Shahnavaz death has been identified as Carl Roy Webb Boards II, 42, from Anderson, Indiana. He is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail and has no bond.

2. Possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a level "4" Felony

3. Resisting Law Enforcement, a level "6" Felony

All crimes mentioned in this release are alleged and all suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court. This arrest was based on probable cause, actual criminal charges will be determined by the Madison County Prosecutor's Office.
