Murder Suspect Arrested in Fulton Street Homicide- Updated Story

Anderson, IN— On 10/09/2022, the Anderson Police Department initiated an

investigation into a homicide that occurred in the 2200 block of Fulton Street. The victim,

identified as Tyreke X. Love (23), was located inside a nearby apartment suffering from a

gunshot wound. Once officers could secure the scene and render aid, Love was

transported to a local Anderson hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Criminal Investigations Division followed up on multiple leads and was able to

locate a possible suspect vehicle in the 2900 block of Sheridan Street. At that time,

detectives obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and the residence where it was

located. The APD SWAT and Negotiations Team was activated to assist, and the search

warrant was executed without incident. Three subjects were detained from the residence

and questioned.

On 10/20/2022, Detective Travis Thompson filed charges with the Madison County

Prosecutor’s Office for the murder of Tyreke X. Love. Additionally, warrants have

officially been issued for the arrest of David L. Jones Jr. (54) of Anderson. Detectives

believe Jones to be armed and dangerous.
