This evening the Anderson Police responded to a report of a shooting at 1002 Nichol Avenue. As officers arrived on the scene, they located a male subject suffering from gunshot wounds inside the store. They quickly secured the immediate area and began rendering aid. The victim was transported to a local Anderson hospital before ultimately being sent to Indianapolis, where he remains in critical condition. Preliminary details depict that a male subject entered the store and immediately began shooting at the victim before fleeing the area in a vehicle. The Criminal Investigations Division was called to the scene and is currently following up on multiple leads. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
