Robbery Suspect In Jail After Robbing A Woman At Work at Knifepoint
According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, Ms. Harter was logging on to her computer at Dunkin and Son Construction when she heard the front door open. She did not think much about it because she was expecting the other employees to arrive for work, but when she looked down the hall, she saw a black male wearing a black face mask who was asking if the owner was in. She was walking back to her office to see if she could find someone else to help him, but then she said he produced two knives, one on her left side and the other on her neck.
She said he had her at knifepoint and demanded she takes her clothes off but apparently saw her purse sitting on the floor and dropped the knives and took the purse and took off. She told the other person at work, Skip, what happened, and he called 911 and went outside to see if they could see the suspect fleeing. There was an opening in the fence to another property with a pop-up camper on it where ultimately, officers were able to view the camera footage showing suspect Tony White entering the construction office.
They also found the purse, along with a few other items tied to the incident, behind the camper near a tractor-trailer. Tony White was taken into custody for Robbery and on a Probation Violation and is in the Madison County Jail Awaiting Trial.
During the interview between White and the detective, the detective informed White that they found items that were involved in the robbery, and White agreed to a search wavier and a buccal swab to rule him out as a suspect, but he asked the detective what kind of charges he would face, and the detective mentioned it would be most likely a robbery charge. White began to admit to the robbery but denied saying anything about asking the victim to remove her clothing. He ultimately signed permission to search waiver. There is no additional information at this time on this story, but we will bring you updates as we learn them.
