Shots Fired On Brentwood Drive Cause School Lockdown.

On 08/26/2022 Anderson Police Department Law Enforcement Officials responded to the area
of the 2800 block of Brentwood Drive to investigate a shots fired call.
According to witnesses there was a vehicle seen traveling away from the area at a high rate of speed.
For safety reasons all schools in the area were placed on lock down.
It is unknown if anyone was injured during the incident.

STATEMENT FROM Anderson Community Schools
The criminal activity did involve a gun and shots were fired in the Brentwood neighborhood to the west of Anderson Elementary School and COMPASS. However, while there were students and staff members outside during this time, there was no one considered in any danger. To reiterate, all students and staff are safe and without injury.
Because of this incident, additional support from law enforcement, social workers, and mental health professionals will be at both schools next week.
