Update- Shooting Suspect in Custody at the Madison County Jail.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.




UPDATE

Anderson, IN— On 11/02/2022, the Anderson Police responded to a report of a shooting at 1002 Nichol Avenue (Conoco). As officers arrived on the scene, they located a male subject suffering from gunshot wounds inside the store. They quickly secured the immediate area and began rendering aid. The victim, identified as Aundre Nell Qua Maine Diamond (28) of Indianapolis, remains in the ICU in serious condition. On 11/03/2022, the Criminal Investigations Division followed up on multiple leads and was able to locate the whereabouts of the alleged suspect from last night’s shooting at 1002 Nichol Avenue. Detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 1500 block of W. 4th Street. *The APD SWAT and Negotiations Team was activated to assist detectives, and the search warrant was executed without incident. The suspect, identified as Bernard M. Stidhum (33) of Anderson, voluntarily exited the residence and was placed into custody. The investigation remains ongoing, and more details will be released as they become available.

The suspect was Taken into Custody at 4th and Henry Street.


A reporter on the scene spoke with Anderson Police Department's Public Information Officer McKnight, and he confirms the shooting suspect has been taken into custody.

Preliminary details depict that the suspect entered the store and immediately began

shooting Diamond before fleeing the area in a vehicle. The Criminal Investigations

Division has been following up on multiple leads. However, no arrests have been made at

this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
